Celebrating National Code Compliance Appreciation Month: Recognizing Those Who Help Keep Statesville Safe and Beautiful

What Does Code Enforcement Do?

Code Enforcement is about more than identifying violations. It's about working with residents, property owners, and businesses to address concerns, encourage compliance, and maintain community standards.

Some of the areas Code Enforcement addresses include:

• Property Maintenance: Addressing properties with overgrown vegetation, accumulated debris, and other maintenance concerns.
• Public Health and Safety: Identifying property conditions that may create safety hazards or negatively affect surrounding neighborhoods.
• Community Appearance: Helping maintain clean, attractive neighborhoods and commercial areas.
• Education and Compliance: Working with property owners to explain local ordinances and encourage voluntary compliance.

While much of their work happens behind the scenes, the impact of Code Enforcement can be seen throughout our city.

Thank You to Our Code Enforcement Team!

Code Enforcement staff often face challenging situations that require patience, professionalism, and strong communication skills. Their work involves balancing the needs of individual property owners with the responsibility of protecting the broader community.

During National Code Compliance Appreciation Month, we want to recognize their hard work and commitment to making Statesville a great place to live, work, and visit.
