Traffic Alert: East Front Street Lane Closure October 21–23, 2026

The City of Statesville is notifying motorists of an upcoming lane closure on East Front Street as work continues on the Police Station Parking Deck project.

Beginning Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 9 a.m., both eastbound lanes of East Front Street between South Center Street and Tradd Street will be closed to allow crews to install a new fire hydrant.

The closure is expected to remain in place through Friday, October 23, 2026, weather and work conditions permitting.

Traffic Impacts

• Eastbound East Front Street: Both lanes will be closed between South Center Street and Tradd Street.
• Westbound East Front Street: Both lanes will remain open during construction.
• Cooper Street: Motorists exiting Cooper Street onto East Front Street will be required to turn right only.

The closure will allow crews to install a new fire hydrant as part of the Police Station Parking Deck project. Work will include installing underground water piping and making necessary asphalt repairs.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, allow additional travel time, and exercise caution near the construction area.
