Statesville Police Department Community Fun Day Brings Neighbors Together at Garfield Park

The Statesville Police Department enjoyed another great afternoon of community connection during Community Fun Day at Garfield Park on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Residents of all ages came together to enjoy free food, music, games, snow cones, community resources, and time with neighbors, friends, and SPD officers. The relaxed, family-friendly afternoon provided another opportunity for officers and community members to connect, have conversations, and simply enjoy time together.

Helping Students Head Back to School

The day also included some extra back-to-school excitement thanks to Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality! The department joined the event and handed out more than 100 backpacks to local students preparing to head back to school.

Thank You

Community Fun Days are about more than food, games, and activities. They create opportunities to strengthen relationships, connect residents with resources, and bring our community together in a positive and welcoming environment.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Garfield Park. We appreciate all who helped make the afternoon a success and look forward to connecting with even more of our community at future events!
